He has been the recipient of various awards and distinctions and has his work in museums as well as in public and private collections, in Portugal and abroad.
“Alberto Carneiro’s artistic experience and perception have been characterized by an anthropological approach focused on the intricate relationships between nature and culture.” Joaquim Couto, Mayor of Santo Tirso
It’s through this brief description of his work that ours came alive, not by trying to document this exhibition or the sculptures therein, but exploring and reinterpreting the shapes and textures that are so alive in the author’s expressiveness and body of work. From landscapes into landscapes, raw materials to imaginary locations, the textures close in on us with an almost primal notion of spatiality and ambience. Parcial (Partial) is the search for a meaning within a meaning, where the answer lies in the details.
